Data Backup and Restore

Data Security

Travel Keeper uses a local-first storage strategy:

  • All data is saved on your device locally
  • Data is safe even without an internet connection
  • When switching phones, restore via account sync

Cloud Sync

After logging in, data syncs to the cloud automatically:

  • Expense records sync in real-time
  • Trip information is backed up automatically
  • Photos sync selectively based on your settings

Sync Status

Check "Settings" β†’ "Sync Status" to view:

  • Last sync time
  • Number of pending records
  • Sync errors (if any)

Switching Phones

When getting a new phone:

  1. Download Travel Keeper on the new device
  2. Log in with your existing account
  3. Data restores automatically from the cloud
  4. Wait for sync to complete

Export Data

Go to "Settings" β†’ "Data Management" to export:

  • πŸ“Š Ledger statistical reports (PDF format)
  • πŸ“· Bulk photo download
